According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, traffic delays are likely on Interstate 70 next week as part of the $9 million bridge replacement project at Marion St. exit 225 in Bridgeport.
Starting Monday, Oct. 19 through Wednesday, Oct. 21, the westbound lanes of I-70 at Marion St. will be closed by ODOT. Traffic is expected to be stopped for 15 minutes at a time.
Wednesday, Oct. 21 through Thursday, Oct. 22 the same closures are set for the eastbound lanes of I-70 at Marion St. The Marion St. bridge is closed to all traffic, as well as both I-70 eastbound ramps. The I-70 westbound ramps remain open.
Northbound traffic is detoured through Wheeling Island. Traffic is encouraged to use I-470 to avoid congestion.
Weather permitting officials hope to reopen the off ramp and part of the Marion St. by the end of the year.
